Barber are a London based team of passionate and talented designers that specialise in developing retail store environments and customer communications. Since 1999 we have been creating outstanding retail environments for a wide range of clients in the retail sector both in the UK and internationally.
We offer a wide range of design services from Brand Positioning, Identity Design, Retail Design, Exhibition Design and Website Design. Founded in 1999 by Doug Barber after graduating with an MA in 3D design and technology, Barber Design set out with a simple mission: To create memorable retail experiences that drive customer awareness and loyalty, which in turn increases our client's profitability.
Since the company inception the business has grown in the last 12 years to become a recognised name in both the UK and more recently internationally for delivering exceptional work that drives sales and awareness for clients. From the early days, Barber has worked with brands such as Debenhams, Nike, Diesel, Topshop, Ben Sherman and a host of leading high street names that required excellent retail design solutions.
Continuing on these early successes, Barber has since worked with Jessop's to revitalise their retail offer, helped launch (and roll out) Bench fashion stores onto the high Street, designed and rolled out a large project for Welcome Break and more recently launched (and rolled out) Robbie Williams fashion Brand 'Farrell' onto the UK high Street. Further afield, Barber has been involved in designing and rolling out flagship stores for clients in Berlin, Sweden, Norway, Hong Kong , Beijing, Seoul, New York, Dubai and more recently in Iraq. In 2011 Barber were appointed to develop a global retail design and communications project for the Discovery Channel which will launch in 2012.
Not only do we work with big brands, we support small start ups and young businesses that want to grow. We recognise that they are the lifeblood of the economy and a new wave of UK and international retailers. We bring a fresh approach and a new way of thinking to every design project we do. We do this by looking at the bigger picture but also by paying close attention to the small details. As a company we are not stuffy or fluffy and we certainly don't have big egos. It's about working in partnership with clients to deliver what's best for their business.
Also as designers we believe we should take responsibility for the environments we create and the role we play in sustainability. Wherever possible we use environmentally friendly products, sustainable resources, and recycled materials.
