With just seven weeks to design and fit out the salon, Barber Design created a look and feel like James' own apartment, a juxtaposition of classic and modern which offers a pleasing glimpse into his enviably eclectic and stylish world. Part of the design vision for the salon was to replace all of the typical fixtures and fittings you would expect to see in a hair salon with unique pieces of modern and antique furniture; the reception area takes in an old carved wooden reception desk complete with "Are You Being Served" greeting bell and a Union Jack upholstered chair, with an overstuffed velvet sofa and cushioned window seats for guests.
