Barber were approached by the client, a duo with former experience as fashion buyers to create a cool contemporary retail environment for an independent streetwear outlet. The brief was to showcase affordable young London and US labels in an environment with a street edge.

We created the retail concept with simplicity in mind to allow the customer to focus on the streetwear clothing on sale. The use of brick slips as a wall treatment work harmoniously with the pale chunky timber shelves and tables to create a neutral urban environment.

Wholesome London was launched in December 2010 into the trendy shopping destination of Shoreditch in east London. The resulting store interior is true to the concept designed by Barber and the store looks promising to catch the eye of urban trendsetters in the area.
