Baggage company ‘homely’ retail interior concept

This week we take another look at interesting retail environments from around the globe with this playful new retail interior design concept from baggage firm Kipling.
The approach is described as ‘a domestic approach to retail, encouraging discovery and exploration in-store’. The theme of domestic familiarity is underpinned by the use of everyday objects positioned around the store to showcase individual products.
One range of bags are displayed in the style of ‘family portraits’ suspended within frames on one wall of the store. Displaying ‘new arrivals’ in the baggage range as and when they appear.
The cash desk is designed to look like a homely kitchen table and travel bags and luggage are displayed in a large airport-style luggage trolley.
There is a criss-crossed style pin board full of inspirational ideas set off with drawers in soft pastel pinks and muted candy colours. Throughout the store layout the ‘Kipling Monkey’ brand logo is repeated in the design featuring as table legs, printed onto walls and in large glass candy jars within the changing area.
The new retail interior design concept for Kipling will be rolled-out globally across all Kipling stores from September 2012.
