Dixons Travel – new retail design concept rolled out at Gatwick South Terminal
Dixons Retail recently unveiled a new-look flagship storeand retail design concept as they look to expand their presence in the lucrative travel market. The shop is the first in a series of new concept stores for the electrical retailer’s specialist travel brand – ‘Dixons Travel’ and is to be found at the South terminal of Gatwick Airport, London.
The new retail design of the new store is different from traditional point-of-sale type stores, as it utilises new technology, including cutting-edge digital signage to showcase products and special deals.
The design features concessions to accommodate busy travellers such as an open area with shelves where shoppers may stash their luggage whilst paying for their purchases. The customer experience is dramatically enhanced via the use of the latest in retail technology including ‘digital visual merchandising tables’, featuring 32-inch rear projection ‘floating screens’ positioned over specifically themed areas, providing a theatrical ambience. 10-inch tablet ‘look books’ are placed beside popular gadgets to provide additional information about the products , alongside with human back up at the ‘Knowhow bar’ where experts offer face-to-face technical advice and repairs.
To celebrate the new store unveiling, Dixons are offering a a £10 off per £100 spend voucher at Dixons Travel in the South Terminal – the offer is texted to shoppers as they arrive at the terminal – to draw customers into the store.
