Tesco Reveals New Retail Interior Design for Watford Extra Store

On August 12th Tesco officially unveiled their new retail interior design at their newly revamped Tesco Extra store in Watford, showcasing their new ideas for further stores. Tesco describe their new retail design as a “brand new shopping and leisure destination”.

The store is the first of its kind in the UK and features stand-alone branded areas offering a range of facilities and features, including a Giraffe restaurant, Harris and Hoole coffee shop and a Euphorium bakery.

The brand new retail interior also features a new deli area is called City Kitchen, a bakery area called The Bakery Project, a new F&F clothing department, and a newly re-designed beauty department.

Tesco chief executive Philip Clarke has revamped the store as part of the company’s new directive to create a friendly mall-like experience within its larger stores – making them more than just a place for grocery shopping – Clarke’s vision sees the new stores being re-designed to become destinations for both shopping and leisure offering activities such as yoga and cookery classes alongside the newly revamped retail departments.
