Barber Design's Relaunch of Indian Jewellery Brand GIVA

When GIVA, a dynamic Indian jewellery brand, came to us, their growth was nothing short of extraordinary. They had exploded from a Bangalore startup to a nationwide market leader in just a few short years, becoming the go-to brand for young, aspirational consumers seeking silver, gold, and lab-grown diamonds.

With an aggressive expansion plan—opening up to 25 new stores a month across India—GIVA faced a critical challenge: How could they maintain this dizzying momentum and speak with a unified, cohesive voice? They needed a partner to translate their success into a clear, consistent, and captivating brand identity across every single customer touchpoint.

A Coherent Vision for Rapid Growth

GIVA appointed us to lead a comprehensive brand revitalisation programme. Our mission was to provide a strategic blueprint for their aggressive scale-up, ensuring every interaction—online and in-store—felt distinctly GIVA.

We completely overhauled the customer experience, which included:

  • Developing a new, modern brand identity and a memorable iconic brand marque.
  • Crafting a compelling secondary message: ‘exceptional anytime jewellery.’
  • Designing a captivating new retail experience and customer journey.
  • Creating essential digital collateral, including website look and feel and social media templates.

Creating a Unique and Premium Customer Experience

Our process began with deep immersion in the brand, visiting the client in Bangalore and studying their young, ambitious customer base. This groundwork allowed us to define a revitalised customer experience, taking GIVA’s identity punching into the 21st century.

The In-Store Transformation

We replaced the stark white and grey fixtures with a warmer, more luxurious environment. Our design focused on creating a relaxed, inspiring shopping mood:

  • A New Palette: We introduced a subtle, calming colour palette of soft pinks and subtle sage greens to create distinct zones and evoke a feeling of warmth.
  • Tactile Luxury: We utilised carpeted zones to minimise noise, paired with distinctive recycled terrazzo flooring and gold-framed displays for a premium feel.
  • The Spotlight on Product: Specialised in-cabinet, under-shelf, and feature lighting was meticulously designed to ensure the jewellery is presented at its absolute optimum best.
  • Heer by GIVA: We created a separate, premium ‘shop-in-shop’ destination for their growing Lab Grown Diamond category, called Heer by GIVA, utilising subtle green finishes to showcase the diamonds.
  • Enhanced Service: Welcoming rounded fixtures, pull-out trays, and comfortable seating all contribute to a relaxed and elevated customer service experience.

Brand Consistency Across all Touchpoints

To ensure every interaction was perfectly aligned, we translated the new design language into all customer-facing elements. The iconic brand marque was adapted into a unique pattern used on packaging, bags, and uniforms. The new look and feel were also applied to the GIVA website and social media channels to guarantee complete consistency. We even developed a lifestyle imagery guide for local photographers to ensure a unified visual style for product shoots.

The Results: A New Era of Retail for GIVA

The fruits of this partnership are already becoming visible, with the first new concept stores successfully launched and overwhelmingly positive customer feedback.

By aligning their physical retail spaces with their digital presence and a fresh, cohesive brand identity, GIVA is strategically positioned to deepen engagement with its existing audience while capturing the attention of new customers across India.
